We just spent three days north of Taipei as part of a spiritual retreat with Thais Protestants. But as the religious side was the last of my concerns, I will talk to you as places visited.
Thursday afternoon, we went to the waterfall Shifen. The road to get there was beautiful, too bad the pictures through the window of the bus does not go well. The whole eastern part of Taiwan was occupied by a chain of high mountains (up to almost 4000m). We were in the lowest parts, I believe it, but it was really exciting, I eager to go further south to see what happens there!
Shifen is known as the Niagara Taiwan. The proportions are not there, but yeah, it looks like a bit.
