Thank You Condolence Words For Friend
This afternoon we walked in the Wanhua district, the oldest of Taipei. But that, he must know, because it does not remain large thing of the past and that his age is not so obvious. The jewel of the neighborhood's Longshan Temple, one of Taiwan's oldest (built in 1738, but destroyed and rebuilt several times). It was originally a Buddhist temple, but since he has been home Taoist gods.
main entrance. Note the information panel very modern!
The main sanctuary
There were many people on the eve of new year. The gods will enjoy thanks to the many offerings.
The hostess, Guanyin, the Buddhist goddess of mercy.
These women led prayer group. I do not know if they are nuns (which normally should have shaved head) or secular.
The style of the temples is quite busy and rather kitsch, but it must admit that the artisans are performing admirably.
finely carved stone pillar
Longshan Temple also houses a shrine to Mazu, Goddess of the Sea Taoist Both women seem to get on well despite their different beliefs. In fact, Taiwan, and China more generally, Buddhism and Taoism are so intermingled that would be hard to separate it all!
This modern building touches the temple. It is true that we eat place in Taipei, but I'm still amazed by the extreme approximation. Imagine a tower of glass against Notre Dame de Paris?
Nearby is the Longshan Temple Qingshan, dedicated to ... Qingshan, which repels pests and dispenses justice.
A Qingshan buddies. We will contribute much to offer laser hair removal eyebrow, right? In fact there were several in the same condition hair, it must be the local fashion.
We ended our pilgrimage through the temple Qingshui. That one is devoted to Chen Chao-Yin, a Taoist monk who cared for the poor.
