The dragon that bites its tail
growth Dragon * Taiwan is favored by hiring cheap labor from Southeast Asia. Including Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand. Since these workers do not necessarily speak Chinese companies employing interpreters / translators-nannies to care for them. That kind of job that John hoped stall, since it is bilingual and he has already held similar jobs in Thailand of Chinese coming to work the land of smiles.
He had contact with a dozen companies looking for an interpreter. But each time the same question arises: you have a resident visa? No, obviously not, because to have a resident visa, you must already have a job! Or be married to a Taiwanese, too bad he got the wrong number. We do not understand why companies are so lazy, and it's really annoying! They need interpreters, there seems to be shortage, but they do not do what it takes to fix it! Incomprehensible!
And obviously, it is useless to seek in another area, the problem is always the same.
We must initiate Plan B: John returns to Bangkok tomorrow (expiry of his visa) and will look for a job there. He will return to Taiwan when I found a job. As we got married, he may benefit from my resident visa, and steps will be much easier for him!
other news cringe: the cost of tuition doubled in the university it covers. For his master, he now takes 10 000 euros! Given the precariousness of our situation now is really too much (how to stay and live in Taiwan so I do not find work and can only work part-time studies with a visa?). So this project is delayed until next year, hopefully by then!
